BlueCare Motor Vehicle Sponsorship

Mossman Rotary Club has announced their continuing sponsorship of a Mossman Blue Care motor vehicle.
The sponsorship is worth $2,500, and will cover operational costs of the vehicle for the next twelve months.
The vehicle will be used to allow Blue Care staff to undertake home visits to homebound elderly or disabled clients and to assist more mobile senior citizens, who can't drive for various reasons, to take them grocery shopping.
Around 100 people in the Mossman Port Douglas area rely on Blue Care and the car for assistance.
Rotary Club President, Ron Schild, said "Mossman Rotary has been a supporter of Blue Care (formerly The Blue Nurses) for in excess of 10 years and is happy to continue our support of their efforts to assist elderly people to remain in their homes and remain reasonably independent.
We live in a rural area with a large elderly population who have limited facilities to call on, and we are proud to be able to assist an organisation which endeavours to make life a little easier for our senior citizens" he said.
“Funds for these projects are raised from the local community by way of a weekly Rotary raffle, the prizes of which are vouchers to be spent in local business houses.
This way we can ensure that all money invested is returned to the local Mossman community.
